The City from Tate Modern

The City from Tate Modern. I was fortunate to be able to visit the new Tate Modern extension – the Switch House – on a sunny day just before the official opening on 17 June 2016. As well as the huge new galleries and more intimate display spaces, the building features a tenth-floor viewing platform just right for mid-height views of London's taller buildings. So this is just a straightforward view towards the City, being careful to keep the camera level on both axes using the D800's built-in 'spirit level'. It doesn't show on this small image, but I'm amazed at the amount of detail captured by Nikon's very sharp 85mm f/1.8 lens.

Technical: NIKON D800, f=85.0 mm, ISO320, 1/1000 sec @ f8.0
