Roof of the Sony Center, Berlin

Roof of the Sony Center, Berlin. Designed by Helmut Jahn and completed in the year 2000, the Sony Center at Berlin's Potsdamer Platz features this spectacular tent-like roof. I found that I could almost contain it in the frame using the 20mm lens, and I like the detail of the supporting framework and tensioned cables. Inevitably the wideangle lens pulls in the top of one of the buildings at a weird angle, which I feel adds interest to the image by breaking the 'perfect' elipse, and balances the shadow area in the bottom-left corner. However in competition the judge said he couldn't see what it was and thought it spoiled the picture! I first saw the Sony Center at the end of my Grand Tour in 2008.
