Arriving in Pariser Platz, I found that my plan to photograph the Brandenburg Gate had been thwarted. But some compensation was provided by the guys in the square dressed as US and Russian soldiers, posing for photos with the tourists and offering to stamp their passports with 'authentic' cold war marks. They're great guys and play up well for the camera (though I know their presence is not welcomed by everyone). Not far away, three lads breakdancing rather well and passing the hat round. Well, I'm certainly no breakdancing expert, but they looked pretty good to me, and they genuinely seemed to be enjoying themselves. I hope they made some decent money from their hat. [Yes, I did]. |
