Old Stock
Old Stock. The scene, in 1973, in the yard of an antique dealer (Beckwiths) in St Andrew Street in Hertford. Mainstream colour printing was still fairly unusual, which perhaps helped the print into the RPS Exhibition – I must say it looked quite good as a 20 x 16 inch flush-mounted print – and I was extremely pleased to be accepted, especially as the exhibition went on international tour that year. Despite my new found enthusiasm for colour, I was working mainly in black & white at the time and I think it shows in this picture.
