Steps in the Sand
Steps in the Sand. On the shore at Brancaster, on the north Norfolk coast, on a hot and sunny September day. Getting in very close with the 12mm lens (35mm equivalent = 18mm) to hold the grain of the wood and make the best of the shapes, while still showing the wide expanse of shoreline beyond.
I 'printed' it heavy, with some artificial polarising in the sky, to pull the structure out of the picture and really make the shadows work. It only achieved 17/20 in the same competition as Hertfordshire Winter (20); personally I think this is the better picture.
