Blackfriars
Blackfriars. The underside of the south end of London's Blackfriars Station, on its bridge over the Thames. A strong 'red filter' mono conversion in Adobe Camera Raw, with shadow detail under the arch lifted a bit in Photoshop. I was lucky that the sun was at just the right angle to give some highlights on the roof panels, and bring out detail in the metalwork of the walkway. Taken with the Nikkor AF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens on the diminutive D3200 – an excellent travel combination, although the lens is by no means the sharpest by modern standards. In this case the strong contrast has made the image much sharper than I expected.
Technical: NIKON D3200, f=31.0 mm, ISO200, 1/500 sec @ f8.0
