Looking Down
Looking Down. There are interesting photo opportunities everywhere in the dome of the Berlin Reichstag – home of the Bundestag, the German parliament – which was designed by British architect Norman Foster and completed in 1999. This is a fairly straight shot from near the top of the spiral walkway, but taken with the Nikon 12-24mm lens at 12mm – equivalent to 18mm on 35mm film – to emphasise the height of the space, and to make the most of the curve of the walkway on the left against the stack of adjustable mirrors on the right. I think the glimpse of the wheelchair top right helps to hold in that corner, but I might get complaints about (deliberately) cutting off the top of the wheel!
There are some details of my 2012 visit to the Reichstag on my Grand Tour blog.
