‘Spirito di Venezia’

These images are from my first visit to Venice, in 2004 (though this page was added in January 2010). Many of the scenes are familiar, of course, but the textures and rich colours of Venice, and the patterns of the moored gondolas, are irresistible. I visited in mid March and the weather was generally excellent for photography, though with the notorious Venetian mist hanging over the city for some of the time.
